You might be thinking that my title would get a response from Homer Simpson (Doh!), but too many teams try to do Scrum or Agile in a rigid and prescriptive way. There are a couple of main reasons that I see this. The first is the desire for new teams to “do” Scrum right when they are new to Scrum. I resemble that feeling! On my first Scrum project (several years ago) I defended the process against change rather than being open to process change. Oh well, we all have to learn somehow!
12. Make an appointment to talk with the host of the last house party. Tell the host that because of his or her help you now have three more house parties and ask if he or she would like to join you and do one or part of one of the house parties.
Act – Show enthusiasm and go sell! No one will ever be successful at selling if they spend all of their time getting ready to sell. Preparation is important, but nothing is quite as important as getting out and taking the action. Do not be afraid to make mistakes and fail from time to time. Those mistakes and failures tend to be some of the best learning experiences and can even lead to some of your greatest successes.
But what if you don’t have a blog to publish articles on or you don’t know anything about websites? The great thing about the internet is that you don’t really need a website. However, if you know how to type an email, then you can start a blog that produces you $100 a day or more. There are free blog programs that just requires and email address to start and you simply email a unique email address to publish whatever it is you want online.
So what does a stranger — a lawyer, accountant, doctor, financial planner, architect, insurance agent, stock broker, contractor, hair dresser, mechanic, personal stylist, tailor or decorator – have to do win access, trust and a recurring role? Marketing personal and professional services requires aligning the Click here proposition with the knowledge, expectations and psycho-demographics of the target population.
So assuming that you already have a website or you have planned where to add content about your product, then I’m going to share with you the first step on your route to pulling in the customers. This first step is research. What I suggest that you do is to look for the product online. If the product sells on Amazon then go to the page for it and read the reviews there. Take notes on what you find, you’re going to use this material in the next step. If the product is sold through Clickbank, then you might have a tougher time, but still invest some time looking for authentic reviews from people who really have purchased the product.
My second point is this. No matter what phrase you are going for, if you know what you are doing, you are going to easily pass up many of those sites listed. But, being on the 3rd or 4th page isn’t enough. You have to “Win” this game and be on the 1st page if you want those business opportunity leads. Pay careful attention to what the sites are doing on the first couple of pages. Page three might be obtainable but getting higher than that could be very tough indeed. The point is, this is where your competition is!
